The 48 hour startup project

April 12th, 2010

We are pleased to be working with Freeisde Atlanta to bring a 48(ish) hour startup project.

The goal is to conceptualize, design, plan, and build a prototype or actual product in 48 hours.

The event will run May 14th at 7pm, through midnight May 17th. For more information, email us, or drop by a Freeside meeting and say hello!

W7100 HTTP server example

One of the projects I’m working on currently is a design for the Wiznet iMCU 2009 Design Contest. I have spent quite a bit of time becoming familiar with the board, and one thing I decided would be useful is a simple HTTP server.

The source code is attached here. It will send a DHCP request, and then start the web server on port 80. This is a work in progress, for testing/developers only. The source code is provided as is, All Rights Reserved. If you’d like to use it in your project, please contact me through this blog or my email address ( see COPYRIGHT file ).

I will be discussing some of the steps I took to create this server over the next few days.

Be sure to check out our sister site, Design On a Napkin.

This site will hopefully inspire and entertain. Feel free to draw something interesting and send it in. It could be anything from mechanical designs to engineering 101, or even something simple like a lever.

The site will be launching soon, so please send in some material!

A few things coming soon….
